  1. HP can design combo printers not to scan without ink - and I can design my home to function without HP printer products. Shame because they used to have good products.

  2. My relationship with Hewlett-Packard printers came to an end after several decades - because they are now trying to sell printers with "ink subscription" packages. It's bad enough that their software kept berating me for using refilled cartridges.

  4. The HP printers got cheaper and cheaper whilst the ink got more expensive.... and the software went from one 1.44Mb floppy to a gigabyte disk image of buggy, intrusive bloatware.

  17. Moral of the story is “Do not move your business/nonprofit out of NY. Formally close it down and start nothing until after you are provably resident in another state.” Business in New York need to die there rather than move out. Perhaps then people will ask why so many are closing…

  22. I used to know somebody that worked at HP labs. He said that they had a lot of problems evolving their printer software. Lots of legacy problems and IBM being a newcomer to that game was giving them a hard time.
