@scifino1 those buildings were build after the WW2, nobody even thought about architecture, there was a need to rapidly build apartment blocks for a huge amount of housing for a huge amount of people, who either lost their houses during the war or were just moving from rural areas into the cities. Hence, a lot of monotonous 5-9 storey buildings everywhere around former USSR, all built in around the same time period and looking the same
