  1.  @benbow7  the standards of what children need were pathetically low at that time Maybe that is why IQ 100 (average) of 1900 would be 70 today. Basically more than half of people from 1900 would be considered imbeciles today. Their brains didn't develop that well, due to worse nutrition and less education
