  2. this is a victim blaming. No, regular people anywhere don't usually get the government they deserve. Because of hierarchical structure of power in the world the inequality of how much influence people in the political and financial elites have vs regular people is too huge. That is like if you said Amazon workers deserve the management that makes them piss in bottles.
