It is an exagerration. Only villages and poorest towns look like third world. or a stereotype of third world which we usually imagine. Most middle-size and large towns are OK. ALthough there are exceptions

My parents said there were two attempts to steal something from their car, like parts and such, in te last several months. That is insane! Our town never had much crime, and now it is rising like that. Town in the north-west of Russia

Yeah not far from where I live in Saint Petersburg, rather close to the centre, they couldn't clean the dead pigeon's corpse from the sidewalk for week. It happened this autumn. After that when I see that there are Russians who say EU is dirtier I facepalm🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀🤦‍♀

yeah many mental institutions for severely ill and disabled people called "internats" are like GULAGs in Russia now. People who could potentially be treated, aren't, their medications and conditions are inadequate, and thus their conditions become worse. Also, they sterilise women there. Probably, to hide that their staff is commiting SA, cause you know, severely mentally ill women can't consent. But if they aren't pregnant, noone is going to know that anyone SAed them
