  1. Tankies aren't always pro-Russian. Tankies are ones who excuse anything done by totalitarian "socialist" governments like USSR and China and sometimes even North Korea. They can have different opinion on Putin's regime though. The trend in supporting Putin during current war comes from the fact that most of them are in a very primitive way anti-American and believe if USA supports Ukraine, then Russia is automatically right. Basically kindergarten level of understanding the world
