  1. Exactly, that is the whole reason for this fear mongering about declining birth rates. The fact is this economic system, addicted to impossible endless growth is unsustainable anyway, due to multiple reasons, mostly the fact that few dozens of people hoard as much wealth as half of humanity has. If this broken economic system can't sustain itself when population stops growing, that is a symptom, not a cause
