  1. I think you only forget it if you don't use it at all for a very long time meaning you have noone close enough to you that you want to have contact with them, who speaks only that language. Like if some of your family members pass away, others just move abroad with you and you can speak another language with them. And there are only very distant relatives left back home whom you have no interest in anyway
