In some universe you also found someone better. Probably not this one
3
And this interpretation actually says it is one Universe, just following all possible histories, not different universes
3
No, evolution means change of allele frequencies. "Form"? What a dumb idea? Most important features of an organism do not depend on form, but on its metabolism and internal processes, which cannot be "seen". Seems like you try to judge which life forms are different enough based only on their appearance. That is incredibly primitive and stupid way of looking into things. You probably would also think that whales are fish, not mammals, if you went only one step further into that route
2
Probably there is a universe where even I have a girlfriend.
2
Allele frequency change is evolution as well. And "species" is an artificial category. In microorganisms the criteria of "reproductive isolation" doesn't exist, so species are just defined more or less arbitrarily. But many strains of E. coli are genetically more different from each other than humans are from chimps. So if we had consistent criteria, we would see many of those strains as separate species
2
What a moronic comment, not only because of conspiracy theory, but also cause you cannot tell the difference between bacteria and viruses or between an experiment to select random mutations and experiment to specifically propagate certain variantions
2
How can you tell? The ones which consume citrate are literally not fitting the description of "Escherichia coli" species anymore. Also, different strains of E. coli actually are often more genetically different from each other than we are from a chimp. If we followed consistent criteria, most of those strains including the mutants produced in such experiment would be considered different species. Also "species" is a made-up category, in real world there is no strict boundaries between what is one species and what is different. Plenty of populations are "in between" in terms of reproductive isolation. That also happens because populations separate gradually over time
2
No problem. I can't ride any bike anyway
1
Learn the definition of evolution. Change of genetic allele frequencies is evolution. "Adaption" would be if they adapted not genetically, but only phenotypically in every generation.
1
In your case it surely is
1
Humans won't be living on Mars in large numbers until its terraformed. And terraforming is not even really possible there, cause Solar winds strip its of its atmosphere faster than one can be realistically replenished. And even if one day this problem is solved, it will be in a millenium at least, and them it will take several millenia more to finish the process. Considering current state of affairs thinking that human species will survive for millenia is hopelessly unrealistic
1
That would be impossible to live only on light with such small surface area as human skin anyway. We would need to have thousands of leaves, like trees do, to capture enough light
1
They handle them better than you would, be sure
1
How can you say? You sequenced their genomes?
1
Sure, dude, professional researchers with good equipment and special procedures to kill all unwanted bacteria, are "playing"? You surely know better?
1
Smart people already realised that there is no point on living anyway, even with struggle. You just live without illusion of higher goals and purposes
1
Learn what evolution means. Change of allele frequencies is evolution. It is not only mutations, there is also selection working, very clearly. Also, actually without external intervention bacteria evolve even more. It is just harder to study
1
And species is a made up taxonomic category, the only reason we don't call them different species is because we arbitrarily decided so. In reality many strains of E. coli have more genetic differences from each other than humans have from chimps. If we had consistent criteria of "species" across all domains of life, we would separate "E. coli" into multiple species, and many of new strains produced in this experiment wpuld be different species too
1
They reinterpret words like "evolution" and "species" to suit their biases
1
Guess what? Bacteria are a whole domain of life, which contains millions of species. And many of them are genetically and metabolically more different from each other than you are from a lichen
