  1. The used ones may not survive for as long as new shoes. I wear any shoes or piece of clothing literally until they are broken, and also don't have many pairs at the same time, maybe only two pairs for each season, so it is much better to buy new good quality shoes, which will last for 5 years, than used ones, which will last for 2-3 years.
