  1. I am a microbiologist and I can tell that research about human microbiota confirms that showering and washing hands very often is bad, because it kills natural microbiota, which protects us from pathogens. Tell that to people with OCD. Maybe that can help them stop washing hands all the time

  9. Interesting part about IQ. Also fun fact: monetary "help" for having more kids works as a pro-natalist policy only on people with low intelligence and low education level. Wonder, where modern pro-natalist policies will lead? Watch "Idiocracy". I bet even people who believe in a boogeyman of "low birth rate is a disaster" understand that better no pro-natalist policy at all than something like that. (In Russia where I live government just gives a certain amount of money for a woman who gives birth to a second, third etc. child. At the same time economic situation and quality of life in general are not improved in this country. Policy is ineffective, government incredibly corrupt. Smart people realise that, they will not have more kids just for empty promises).

  10. 40:00 - there are still many people in former USSR states who think Stalin was great leader and in his times country was great. This is very similar attitude to what pro-Putin people think about Putin, by the way. It seems many people here in Russia were taught for centuries to value some crazy "greatness" (country being ahead of half the world, being feared, government doing what the hell they want to their own citizens and other countries) as a biggest value. Mentality most people have here... to talk about all crazy things I would need hours and much better communication skills.

  12. 1:01:00 - actually almost noone says we should kill all humanity, what most radical environmentalists are saying is that it should die off naturally, maybe if people will breed less. Then in that there is some virtue, because as long as human species exists, with its capability to destruction, there will always be danger that humans will kill almost all life on Earth by some particularly destructive actions, and if humans naturally went extinct, then at least that danger to biosphere would be eliminated, even though natural dangers would still remain.

  14. I did a number of IQ tests, the scores were from 119 to ~140. Is such a big difference OK? Or does it mean some tests could be not very well designed? I would say that scores closer to lower range are probably more accurate in my case (yes I am very self-aware, cause on neuroticism I score highly - in the 3% of most neurotic people!)
