  2. yeah, few odd dozens of people in Siberia maybe do seriously consider independence, but not more. same with region where I live Saint Petersburg and around it, so many foreign videos and articles invent the idea that there is any serious separatism here, while in reality I have met maybe a dozen of people with such ideas, throughout my whole 30-year life here. Yeah, sure there are places in Russia that can get independent, like Chechnya, and even more, but claiming there is a serious separatist ideas being popular anywhere outside the North Caucasus right now, is a stretch. Lets hope Putin's regime will end soon, and we'll see what happens I guess

  4. except China's economy is clearly not communist anymore. Look at how many multi-millionaires they have, and horrible conditions of regular workers. That is the opposite of communism

Same as indigenous cultures across Americas or Australia, many smaller indigenous groups in Russia wouldn't be able to survive on their own now. That is simply a result of any colonialism. The idea of "nation states" and "independent countries" and how those "should" be tied to ethnic identity originated in Europe in 18-19 century, and is totally foreign to indigenous people of other cultures, btw. So creating new borders on the map is not what they need to help restore their cultures
