  5.  @KossolaxtheForesworn  As a Russian and non-communist, I will say still: all "communist" countries were not independent experiments in establishing communism, they followed example of USSR, and USSR turned out to be a totalitarian shithole at least partially due to what it inherited from Russian Empire. RE was also very much authoritarian (absolutism until 1905), elitist (inherited social rank, unequal rights by law, plus serfdom until 1861 and its consequences afterwards) society which did not have a concept of individual freedom. Censorship was constant, and many people were sent to Siberia in RE for anti-imperial political views... Seems USSR inherited much from RE, no matter how much they wanted to denounce the past. But of course, communist utopian ideology also was not helping

  15. Seriously, I do not like humanity. If its future is doomed, I am not very saddened by that fact. And I myself will not live so long as to see the most catastrophic results of climate change. (And, no, I dont want to have kids, why would I take part in producing more humans if I do not like humanity?) And biosphere actually survived much worse catastrophes and mass extinction events.
