@HexaSquirrel still saying "Russia did it" is as wrong as saying "Moscow did it". First of all the ruling party had influential members from different parts of USSR. Second of all, most people in Russia and in Moscow had absolutely no say in the decisions like that. Such title induces plenty of xenophobic responses.

When did this happen? Many other countries already destroyed whale populations by the time USSR even formed
5
@dominiksoukal people claiming that soviet accomplishments are Russian, are wrong too
3
@ForOne814 you underestimate how bad it was for other ethnicities. Also, no, it wasn't ruled by non-Russians only. Many of people in power were Russians, many were not, but always pushing the blame for the supposed "other" is a sign of immaturity
2
The amount of environmental destruction caused by the west is comparable. Also USSR =\= Russia
1
@davidford3115 not any people, only uneducated and brainwashed by propaganda claim "Russia defeated Hitler". Putinist propaganda literally now distorts history that way, but only stupid people believe it
1
Same with capitalism, it literally caused climate change and mass extinction. Almost as if disregard gor the environment can cause bad stuff regardless of economic system
1
"Russia destroyed"? LMAO Lake is not even located in Russia. And USSR wasn't the same as Russia. RSFSR was Russia, not the whole USSR.
1
Oh really? Maybe you should look at your own history more closely?
1
By this logic we should ban every country then, cause all of them did some trash
1
The whole world would also be better off if Europeans never colonised anything, and never subjugated the rest of humanity for centuries. Or without capitalism literally destroying the environment of the whole planet to the point of causing mass extinction
1
You can count similar amounts of horrible consequences of capitalism in the world. Or even more. The problem is people willingness to sacrifice environment for short-term gains. It can happen in both economic systems.
1
@fixpontt not entirely. Many high-ranking people in the party were not from Russia in fact
1
That wasn't Russia. It was USSR. It didn't consist only of Russia, and many high-ranking party members were not from Russian part
1
Idiot. It wasn't even Russia. It was USSR, it consisted of much more than Russia
1
USSR =\= Russia. Also the same way you may say Europeans and their descendants in general destroy everything just cause destruction caused by colonialism was enormous on the rest of the world. But that would be oversimplification. The same with Russia. You can cherry-pick bad stuff in its history or you can look more objectively
