@saratapalova8238 stop generalising all "white people". It is nonsense. That whole concept of whiteness is just itself a made-up thing from colonial past, and for a long time plenty of European ethnic groups were not treated as "real whites" in English-speaking countries. The fact that you buy into "white vs POC" dichotomy is the result of centuries of racist brainwashing itself
26
Also the effect of so many local ppl becoming corrupt when they became successful. Same happens here in Russia. Quite often we don't trust each other to do good and not steal
14
@saratapalova8238 ethnic stereotypes is one issue, whether the ethnicity in question is broadly considered to be of the "same race" or not. Xenophobia is always xenophobia
13
@eldron29-a54 you misunderstand, there is a difference between people who actually do something to fight for rights of minorities and wokescoldes/SJWs. The latter are outraged at every little thing, especially pretty inconsequential ones, but don't do anything of substance to change things. And media using minorities and ideals of social justice only as tokens to make more money is the best example. When I watched "Supergirl" (long ago, the first season) I couldn't get rid of the feeling that they are just trying to insert badly written "feminist ideas" into every part of the series in order to look progressive

It is ok to cast an actor of any ethnicity as long as they look rather similar, but surely, the same ethnicity should always be preferable. I am also tired of them casting non-Russians for Russian characters when there are many Russian actors available
10
@thecastleofenlightenment2604 Russia doesn't view people by race, but by ethnicity, and yeah, we have plenty of native Asian and mixed ethnic groups, and also plenty of ethnic Russians, who are clearly racially mixed, because ethnicity and race are different things. And they all deserve representation. I would say our mainstream media doesn't portray Russian ethnic diversity enough, but at least many regions-republics in Russian have their own media which produce their own movies, TV shows etc. portraying local cultures

I am also from Russia. The whole situation just gets more and more dystopian so far. We have to stand for ourselves
6
Jews are not very oppressed anymore, certainly not on the level of POCs, LGBTQ people etc. Stop making perpetual victims of someone, just because they were victims in the past. Look at how Israeli government treats Palestine. A real world example that past victims can do bad things themselves
6
I am happier than ever with my choice to be childfree when I look at all that bs
5
True. I am Russian, and I noticed stereotypes about all Eastern European women and women from former USSR, and I also cannot even imagine how bad it should be for Asian-looking women from Russia, they actually are fetishized by both ethnic Russian and foreign men, which is very creepy
5
People shouldn't forget that late Liz still had some power, and she used it, she blocked several times laws, which would disclose to the public how much money she owns. And we know they own a lot.
5
@fuyoutube5708 well, if a person suffering from trauma becomes murderous and violent, he still is a bad guy, no matter how bad the trauma was.
5
The things which are happening in the world are worrying for childfree people like me and for all women. How Afghan talibs treat women nowadays since coming into power; the recent laws in Turkmenistan; Roe v Wade overturned in the USA; polish conservaturds banning almost all abortion; here in Russia they banned childfree and lgbt "propaganda" (actually even mentioning such things would be considered propaganda by those ppl)
4
Because white and black are together making 90% of population in the USA, that is why it is most common
4
Why is it strange as most of these films are made in white majority countries? In real life, say in the USA, white/black and white/Asian are also the most common interracial romances, so films just depict the most common situations
4
Racist and classist, very much so

One more reason being an only child is AWESOME! 😎

@peachpaty8873 what is the story? I haven't heard about it. I mostly read RPF about historical figures, people who are long dead. (Although some weird crap totally exists in that genre too. Pairings like Stalin/Hitler, that level of weird and creepy). Also, I have seen a lot of youtubers read fanfiction about themselves in videos, with strangest pairings, and they were laughing like crazy, it was very funny to them, though one can say that they wouldn't read the creepiest ones

The biggest reason is decline in child mortality. Even in the most regressive countries like Saudi Arabia birth rates are declining, cause demographic transition is triggered by decline in child mortality. And decline in fertility follows, as does bigger acceptance of female equality and contraception. In most pre-industrial countries even natural contraceptive plants which existed were a taboo, cause population needed more birth in order not to collapse from insanely high child mortality. It stopped being a taboo only after a some time after mortality decline. Also, realistically most men don't want to have many kids either in modern societies.

And yet despite that many people in Britain still thought it's ok to waste that much money on all the ceremonies recently??? Brainwashed boot-lickers? The guy in Wales who told Charles what you wrote here, was booed! In Wales! A colonised country

@lemsip207 make a parliamentary republic. And presidents in those can have their expenses minimised. Or even better: how about we ditch the outdated idea that there needs to be "a head of state"? One person being a "head of state" in a democratic nation where every ministry has its own field of work never made sense to me. My own country was always screwed by "heads of state" no matter how they were called. I just don't believe that such a position should exist in modern countries!

Yeah, I am more demi-sexual/romantic than I thought before, so "meeting the right person" could probably work for me, but that is highly unlikely, considering my misanthropic tendencies, and how I cannot trust anyone, extreme introversion, and also terrible character which would make spending time with me unbearable to anyone

Real person fiction exists. So, far, noone has been hurt by its existence

There are many films like that, they just don't get very popular! I am from Russia, and still I found many Native American films on the internet and watched them. My favourite is the Dreamkeeper (2003), it is great!
1
@jonathanbowen3640 there are many Native American films!

@veramae4098 "empty". The world would be "empty" with less humans, that is what those authors think? As if humans are the only living being on this Earth. 🤦 Human arrogance and selfishness will never stop to amaze me! One of the reasons why I am an anti-natalist. This species is the worst which happened to life on Earth

Same that such kind of men think about Eastern European women. I am from Russia, and I think most of women here certainly don't fit the definition of "traditional" wife in Western sense of the world. At least because here, even in cases when a woman is trapped in gender stereotypes, and believes in all that, and does all the house chores herself etc etc, she still works full time, and would never understand a demand of being a full-time housewife if she doesn't want to be one

@A 7108 rich people still can have mental health problems. Surprise. As I remember that was her main problem.
1
My cousin has turned into a Karen, she was always into MLMs and thought way too much about her own knowledge about things, and made disparaging comments about other ethnicgroups which exist in my country, recently she has also become an anti-vaxxer 😑
1
Sure they called themselves communists, but in reality their ideology has nothing to do with communism/socialism.
1
@onyx7273 communism is stateless society. By definition. Parties which call themselves "communist" and claim they are trying to reach such society, but actually are doing the opposite, are lying, like CPC or "communist" parties in late USSR and Eastern Europe.

It is in a way reflection on our celebrity-worshipping and billionaire-worshipping culture
