  1. Yeah, these guys just confuse fantasy with reality, and then they'll whine that "it didn't come true" and blame someone. I know people who read too much sci-fi from 50s and 60s and now are disappointed that we still didn't colonize all the planets, cause you know that is what sci-fi predicted. Try telling them that even scientists back then were underestimating the dangers of space, and writers didn't know even 1% of what we know today

  4. First make an experiment on one of Antarctic bases. Transform it into self-sufficient colony for several years. Then try sending people on the Moon for longer and longer time periods, then build something there. Only after the result of all these studies are there, then plan fro Mars. Nowadays there are still too many unknowns

  5. Yeah why not perfect life-support systems first, and then send people to such a dangerous trip? Somehow SpaceX and all other companies think the rockets are the most important thing! But the real problem is life-support and protection from radiation

  11. Would never happen. Even in the best case scenario. Space is much more dangerous than what people 50 years ago imagined it to be. If you want to blame something for slow pace of space exploration, blame laws of physics and human physiology

  12. More like centuries. People can't safely live there without proper life-support systems. And we don't have even a glimpse of those yet, and worse, SpaceX and other organisations don't even try to develop those, they focus only on rockets etc.

  13. Stop living in fantasy land. Space is much more dangerous than people thought 50 years ago. Our technology is far from being capable of making years long trip to Mars and back really safe. It is very selfish to want to send people there soon, just cause you want to watch it on TV.
