In reality huge shareholders make tons more money on that increased productivity, while most employees are still overworked and can barely survive on their wages

Yup, also, in the world driven by for-profit corporations every new invention will most likely be used to increase the profits of millionaires and billionaires first and foremost, and if a new technology is bad for their profits they will try to stop it at any cost. Look how much money oil companies spend lobbying against green energy, it slows down the progress

If there is nothing killing us, then everyone will live only as long as it takes them to go totally mad or depressed and kill themselves. There will be deaths, just 100% of them will be suicides
