Junior research at uni in S.Petersburg. work half time. My salary is 13-14 k rubles a month. That is only half my rent. My parents pay the rest after my savings ended. Previously when I lived in student dorm I paid only 400-500 rubles (5-10$) a month for it. Uni also paid me stipend back then. I know I should change my job but I am too lazy 😂 at least I paid nothing for my studying all 10 years, and have no debt

@nole8923 this literally has nothing to do with mongols and anything that happened so long ago. People trying to justify current political situation by what happened many centuries ago are pathetic and ignorant. Also, in Ukraine and Poland many people were under serfdom for a long time too, smartass. And in most Eastern Europe. Also, you are basically blaming enslaved people for being enslaved? That is just terrible
1
In which way? As a whole territory, still united politically? Probably not And I am Russian
1
@oleksandrfomin326 yeah sure everyone who happened to be born in Russia has responsibility, wonderful logic. Even in democratic countries most regular people have very little power and influence and in autocratic ones it is much worse
1
@Zz_Mike-Hawk_zZ not "everyone", but many people hate him. But other people within power structure loved him when he allowed them to steal and buy luxuries abroad. Now they are just afraid of him
1
@thefarmerswifeknits6190 nowdays actually many mobilised soldiers' relatives start to be concerned even going to Luhansk to retrieve their men. Hopefully this movement will become stronger.
1
Exactly. Next wave of mobilisation starts in January-February

Another reason I am happy to be childfree LOL But I am not apolitical. I am just unwilling to risk for 0.01% of chance of success which protests nowadays would have. Considering that I can be locked up for 15 years in prison in horrible conditions, my mom can get another heart attack from all that, and noone of those "smartasses" from Europe who suggest protesting will even hear about me or my struggles and won't even help me with them at all. And Putin wouldn't even hear about any political prisoners and surely won't stop the war cause of any of them
1
@marshuswp3325 so where was their courage for previous decades? When dictatorship is still stable, noone protests, then suddenly something changes and protests can erupt. Very funny to see Europeans and Americans who protest in situation when chances of success are reasonable and risks are very low think that they would surely be the courageous ones in the situation when chances of success are almost zero, and risks are very high. No, you would probably hide under your bed from fear

I am Russian and most Russians I know don't want the territorial expansion
1
Are they stupid of brainwashed? I am Russian, and I don't understand how any person can be that delusional as to live abroad and still believe Putin's propaganda? Becuase Putin uses buzz words about west and imperialism in his speeches? Well he forgets to mention that Russia was an imperialist nation for centuries. Typical empire in 19th century, with all the same abuses other empires had. In 20th century USSR treated Eastern Europe like USA treated Latin American countries (controlling who gets in power there and threatening violence when the "wrong" people get power). And current war is an imperialist crazy dream of gaining back formerly colonised territory (Ukraine). Imagine if Britain waged a war to conquer whole of Ireland back again, that would be the same
1
Well in my profession it is a necessity no matter where you live
1
@notyetsilenced9746 stop watching Putin's TV
1
Yeah and some people say Putin made Russia better. Such nonsense. Since 2000 even more schools, hospitals and factories closed than in the 1990s
1
Well colonisers selling land to each other is still wrong. All of the Americas and all of Siberia rightfully belong to indigenous people
1
@pacmanc8103 yeah exactly, when people just want to live like in the past, they aren't that poor. Look at amish, who willingly live without electricity - they still are better off than poor people trapped in Russian village. Some people just don't want to admit that the situation in Russia is so bad
1
@namesurname-1488 ботяра не позорься
1
No Putin's propaganda played a huge role in expanding this ideology

All of these street interviews are bogus guys, the only people who are not afraid to answer with their face at the camera, are the ones who agree with official policy of the government. And if the ones who don't agree answer, they face real danger of being fines or even jailed. There were cases. I am against Putin and any of his policy, and I would never agree to give my opinion on camera like that. I am not stupid. This channel now creates a false and overly negative impression of Russian people sumply by continuing to do these interviews. And judging by some comments which are quickly jumping to generalize all Russians, it is working
1
Oh you don't know anything about most countries then)))
1
@Chaldon-hl6yk thanks to Putin sending his bandits to Donbass to fuel.so called separatism
1
And in Russia doctors and nurses are usually very poor as well
1
Well if they didn't think so, they would be depressed I think
1
@Fractal797 и так до следующей волны мобилизации, когда и студенчсекий уже наверно не будет спасать)))
1
Yes believing Putin even though he lied for 20 years non-stop will have bad consequences for them. The mobilisation hasn't ended, that is just another Putin's lie. There will be the next wave in 2023
1
*the Russians who don't refuse to talk about the topic on camera
1

1
Yeah they are future corrupt politicians who will steal money from treasury, they have no morals, they are collaborationists with illegitemate Putin's government (because all elections since 2011-2012 were falsified)
1
@Limemill yeah, sure, you believe those "polls" that say Putin's support grew. Hilarious! 🤣
1
They don't have 50 years. Next wave of mobilisation will happen, and very soon
