Well maybe being closer to nature for someone if happier. I can understand that sentiment to some extent. When someone has less and does everything themselves, like bring water, fire wood, raise animals, it can have positive effect on mental health for some people, like any meaningful activity

But lets be honest, look at reservations in the USA, and you'll see they are devastated. When it comes to infrastructure they are "sovereign nations" and should cope themselves. But when someone wants to build a toxic mine on a reservation, federal government suddenly intervenes to protect the corporations from protesting locals

@pacmanc8103 yeah exactly, when people just want to live like in the past, they aren't that poor. Look at amish, who willingly live without electricity - they still are better off than poor people trapped in Russian village. Some people just don't want to admit that the situation in Russia is so bad
