I will argue that not having free will =\= determinism. This universe cannot be fully deterministic, because quantum mechanics show that at basic level everything depends on probability. But at the same time in this deterministic universe it is possible that free will doesnt exist. These actually are two separate questions. Whether universe can be deterministic is a question of physics. Whether we have free will is a question of neurobiology. And if neurobiology is functioning in such a way that our conscious desicions are preceded by unconscious processes in the brain, if those processes determine our conscious decisions, it means that we dont have free will. And this has nothing to do with universe being deterministic or not.
