The whole idea that space colonization would be a continuation of colonization of lands on Earth was born when imperialist colonial era still didn't end, and people totally ignored the fact that in reality humans "colonized" almost all lands millennia ago, leaving inhospitable places, which are hard to reach, like Antarctic. And now, after 200 years of its discovery Antarctic still has only some relatively small scientific bases. Why not set the same goal for Moon and Mars? That would certainly be more realistic than "city of million by 2050s"
