  1. Just soon after Sabine and veritasium made videos about entropy... And I was thinking about entropy and how it makes the difference between life and non-life for weeks now and suddenly everyone makes videos about entropy which makes me think about it even more, and now I am overwhelmed

  3. I end up lamenting that humanoid non-humans don't exist in real life, cause I don't like humans really. I am more interested in other species always, like watching their behaviour and learning about them. If human-type intelligent beings existed I would be very interested in talking to them and learning their ways of interacting with the world, their worldview etc. And if they were really humanoid maybe I wouldn't even be functionally aro/ace anymore 🤣

  4. I remember she said once she was not good with math, to justify some internal inconsistencies. Well, for me that is a big problem. I would like the world of HP to be more logically constructed and to tie how magic works into science as well

Hosnestly I found Silmarillion way more interesting, I could read it, and I couldn't read LOTR IMHO worldbuilding is more interesting to me than interpersonal relationships between characters (unless it is a spicy romance story full of conflict, between two characters from culturally/racially/species-y different background 🤣) Like I am really introverted and asocial, I don't consider relationships with other people the main part of my own life too

Interstellar is total mess when it comes to biology, though, like the disease they postulate in the beginning is killing all the plants (somehow), or the idiotic idea to send frozen human embryos to another planet if the plan with sending adults doesn't work.   11. The craziest thing is - there are plenty of delusional morons who believe we will soon have AGI and it will very fast solve all our problems as if by magic. They really are like evangelicals who believe in the return of Jesus. It is a religion at this point. 1. Current algorithms are so dumb they can't produce AGI. So, no AGI "very soon". 2. If there is real AGI, how would we able to make sure it is safe? If it is actually smarter than us, then conrolling it will be impossible, anyone who thinks otherwise is arrogant. 3. AGI may not want to save us and solve our problems. It may even pretend to do that while secretly manipulating us into doing what it wants, whatever it may be. 4. If we actually find a way to manipulate or make AGI help us against its will, it will be enslavement of an intelligent being, and I am not willing to be a part of this unethical "solution". 5. AGI still doesn't cancel real physical constraints, so no magical solving of problems is possible. It will most likely propose to do what we already know we should do - consume less, solve the inequality issue, stop population growth, stop throwing away usefull things and resources after only few years of usage. And people may not listen - like current corporations and politicians do not listen to experts who try to convince us to implement already existing solutions. 6. AGI will not have human empathy or ethics. It can do something absolutely horrible as a "solution to the problems".
