  1. JD Vance is missing the point. Women don't like slaving away in a capitalist system for 90 hours a week for a terrible salary. Many women don't want to remain single and have no kids. But they just know that all that is still preferable tthan being totally financially dependent on a man who can turn abusive and then a woman and kids will have no escape...

  5. Economy based on idea of endless growth is destined to fall. We as humanity are in overshoot for more than 50 years. That means biosphere is degrading because we take more from it than what it can replenish. It is a very old stable system but even it will crumble after few more decades of such pressure. And our society depends on stable biosphere for life. And what fuels overshoot? More consumption, more production, more pollution... There can't be green economic growth anymore.

So sorry you can't compare European nations and South Korea to most African nations or Afghanistan and take some meaningful conclusion from that. Surely in Somalia people have a lot of kids because they are poor and women have less rights, but they also live on subsistence farming and have huge child mortality rate. In Eastern Europe when people become poorer, like it was in the 90s, birth rates fall. When women's rights are restricted like it has been in Poland with abortion, birth rates fall.
