  1. Exactly. Anthropology proves that average human brain volume stopped growing and started decreasing around 50 thousand years ago, during late Palaeolithic period. Because since then culture became so complex that people are handed new knowledge by others and do not need to figure things by themselves. Of course, there is a hypothesis that number of neurons did not decrease, they are just packed differently, that is why volume decreased, but I doubt that explanation.
