@barbiquearea the fertilised egg also cannot develop into a person "on its own". It needs womb to do that. And womb is a part of woman's body and thus it is her right to decide whether to share its resources or not. Also, more than half of fertilised eggs never implant and just die and nobody even notices. So their "potential for life" is barely bigger than unfertilised egg's potential.

@jimbob498 egg and sperm cells have unique DNA. Unique both from parent organism and from each other, due to meiosis and crossingover. You know nothing about science. And potential for human life of fertilised and unfertilised egg cells are both very low, most fertilised eggs never implant and die in a few days

Plenty of copro-lifers whining in the comment section. I got enough for today reading that

Wrong. There cannot be no children in the womb, only fetuses. Also, women aren't obliged to make the part of their body safe for anyone. It is theirs to do as they please

@WigglyCoop007 those are not the same things.

@TonyMishima92 Technically sperm and egg cells are their own living beings, not part of humans. They are unicellular haplobiont generation of humans. Their DNA is also unique. And the potential of fertilised egg to become human is almost just as low as unfertilised one, more than half of them don't implant and die, so...

@WigglyCoop007 there do you get your information from? I am a biologist and I never read anything about 96%. Also life as simple biological existence is irrelevant. If it is relevant, then also give right to life to every living being of other species. As a biologist I believe the only logical thing would be giving the right to life to all living beings who have as complex of nervous system as a human embryo at that stage at which they are given a right to life. If some state thinks 6 week embryo should have a right to life, then they should give the same right to all vertebrate animals and many invertebrates, otherwise they are hypocrits. I don't thing human DNA should give a living being "special treatment" cause it is not that different from DNA of other species anyway. The level of development of nervous system should be the criteria

@WigglyCoop007 that is vague and doesn't refer to what you copro-lifers think

@vinnizle if a person in their right mind doesn't want to live anymore, who has a right to make them live against their will? Nobody is obliged to continue living just cause others want them to. Plus if it's an able bodied person you won't be able to stop them from ending their life anyway

And more than half of all fertilised eggs get killed by Gawd in the first few days of "life", cause they never implant, and thus die. Are you going to cry about that?
