I get that you are concerned about the ECHR and immigration, but it's important to clarify that the ECHR has no influence on the UK's immigration policy, never has and never will. The ECHR primarily focuses on protecting human rights, but it does not dictate how countries manage their borders or immigration processes. The UK has control over its immigration laws and policies, especially after Brexit. The UK government sets its own rules and criteria for immigration independently of the ECHR. It's crucial to distinguish between human rights obligations and national policy decisions!

Whilst becoming energy self-sufficient is important, fracking isn't the solution. Oil and gas prices are set by global markets, so even if we produce our own, we'd still pay the same market price as other countries. How exactly would we achieve the cheapest energy costs when the government has no control over fossil fuel prices? The real path to affordable energy lies in investing in renewable sources like wind and solar, which can lower costs in the long run and help secure our energy future.

In summer 2024, London experienced an average of about 6 to 7 hours of sunshine per day during the peak months of June, July, and August. Specifically, June had the highest average sunshine with around 6 hours and 52 minutes of sunlight per day, while July and August each averaged slightly over 6 hours per day. London typically sees sunshine for about 40% of daylight hours during these months (Source: Met Office/climatestotravel/climate.top) This means there were approximately 60 to 70 days of sunshine.
