  1. Ann Widdecombe, the former Prisons Secretary in the Major government that supported the chaining of women prisoners in hospitals is now promoting civil liberties. Widdecome also voted 13 times against the rights of gay people to lead the same lives as heterosexual couples is concerned with civil liberties. Maybe she was "whitewashed" by Strictly Come Dancing , maybe GB News takes this reactionary too seriously, but Widdecombe is surely not someone who is in any way a a defender of freedom.
