Moving to another country is not an illegal act; crossing the channel in boat or swimming across is also not an illegal act, in spite of what you might think or what Gammon News might tell you. If you are still adament that they are illegally crossing the channel, you might like to explain why they are not arrested when they arrive .

@@ElwoodBlues381 You can though point to legislation that states that crossing the channel in boat or swimming across is an illegal act

@Gmjd64 Wittgenstein in 1938 declared, If I were a good draughtsman, I could convey an innumerable number of expressions by four strokes . He wasn't, neither am I, and neither are you. So use argumentation as a form of reasoning, make claims, support these with evidence, and answer the fundamental question: Is crossing the channel in boat or swimming across an illegal act ? YES or NO.
2
@Gmjd64 Can't you answer a simple yes/no question??

@KaytalHEL We're talking international law, not shitting in someone's garden. Also a border has two sides! Only Brexiteers and simpletons are unaware of that. And isn't France protecting its borders? Or can you only protect your borders outside the EU? After all, France is a sovereign country that is protecting its border. The UK has also continually refused to set up processing centres in France that would prevent the need to cross the channel. It's almost as if the Tory government want people to be angry. But to my original point, is moving to another country is an illegal act? Is crossing the channel in boat or swimming across illegal act? Simple yeses or noes ‘ll suffice!

@@ElwoodBlues381 Three sentences; four "ifs". Mere hypotheticals. Did I ask for your opinions and speculations? No, I asked for legislation that states of the illegality of crossing the channel.

@@ElwoodBlues381 In common law, I see, so it is not statutory law. OK, so where is this common law "literally written"? I don't need easy explanations, legal facts will suffice.

@@ElwoodBlues381 Literally written in common law - is that where I can find it? You don't understand common law, do you? As for telling you where it is legal, wasn't the point for you to inform me where it is illegal? Look, I don't refer to people crossing the channel as "illegals" . Simply give me the legal justification! I don't have to justify why I do not call them "illegals" .

@@ElwoodBlues381 Is not the onus on the person who makes a claim to evidence their claim? In the interests of all your GB buddies calling them “illegals” give us the evidence, From stating everything I said is wrong to not evidencing anything , you are not doing very well. You are backtracking!! I am not using language games. You state that it is illegal to cross the channel, then show me the statutory law. Also since you claim to work directly with people who have crossed illegally then you can explain which statutory law the police can charge them under . Because they will have been charged under that law, wouldn’t they? Otherwise it would be a dereliction of duty of the police.

@ElwoodBlues381 GONE! But in his final post admitted that “illegals” are not in fact illegal after all, but are legal. Refugees seeking asylum in the UK can’t be penalised for entering illegally if they are claiming asylum and coming from a place where their life or freedom are threatened. They may also stop over in other “safe” countries en route to the UK.
