  1. Hamas is a resistance movement! Please consider these questions. How would you react if you were treated as an inferior racial group and systematically deprived of your rights? How would you react if you there was discriminatory underinvestment in your communities? How would you react if you, your family and community were threatened, and tortured? How would you react if your home was bombed, and you were deprived of your land? How would you feel when your deprived homeland was built on by colonial settlers? And were you to leave, how would you feel about the denial of your right to return to your homeland? How would you react if your country’s right to self-determination and sovereignty was not recognised by many countries, including the USA, UK and 16 EU countries? Seriously, how would you react? Would you resist?

  6. By not answering the simple question I credit you with prioritising complexity over simplicity. So what constitutes a war crime? International courts determine if a military act is a war crime or not using three principles: distinction, proportionality and precaution. Proportionality prohibits armies from responding to an attack with excessive violence. Distinction requires members of the military to constantly try to differentiate between civilians and fighters. Precaution requires that everything possible is done to avoid harming civilians. We have seen heinous crimes and unspeakable bloodshed on both sides. But from you have seen, is Israel committing war crimes?
