  1. What about James Lovelock? What about Rachel Carson's 1962 book Silent Spring ? These have had more influence on environmental thinking than those scientists. The other problem is that so many GB Newsers are anti-science; their religious beliefs only allow them to believe the earth is only 7,000 years. How can you reason with that?

  6. Let's adopt environmental policy according to what black cab drivers tell us. Where did such short-termism lead us? Brexit! "We've had enough of experts, let's listen to people with no expertise . This is not a debate, this is ideological conditioning , much as the State Soviet television fogged the minds of the masses. Where is the evidenced based research? No, thought not, this is an attempt by the hard-right media and parties funded by the oil and gas companies to undermine the evidenced based science and fill the minds of the proles with right-wing agit-prop in the same way as they had with Brexit. And as for evidence, please don’t insult anyone’s intelligence with any of the Ice Age bullshit, or David Starkey’s “they grew grapes near Hadrian’s Wall, you know!”.
