"An enemy of my enemy is my friend" Very good rule of thumb. That's why I love North Korea!

Challenging the establishment is important, but we also need to critically examine who benefits from casting doubt. This tactic didn’t start with “truth seekers” – it was perfected by industries like tobacco and fossil fuels to deny facts and protect profits. For instance, do you believe tobacco doesn’t cause early deaths from lung cancer and heart disease? Or that anthropogenic climate change isn’t real, despite overwhelming scientific evidence? Genuine truth-seeking means following evidence, not falling for doubt manufactured by those with vested interests.

You're absolutely right - because critical thinking is exactly what leads people to trust quack doctors, miracle cures, and conspiracy theories over peer-reviewed science. Clearly, no one ever needed a little fact-checking or informed guidance to avoid drinking bleach as a cure-all. Bravo!
