  1. YES!! Those cultural institutions you mention are jewels in the crown of their respective countries. The British Council has been treated shabbily by this government, not to mention the Theresa May government when Mr Johnson was Foreign Secretary. This was the start of the funding slashing gradually to nothing. Dominic Raab, when Foreign Secretary, had to be told what the British Council actually does! On top of this, the British Council losing the £110 million contract to supply the educational exchange - Turing Programme - to a private company is another slash in funding to an institution that should be the pride of this country. Instead, these swingeing cuts to the British Council, as well as the cuts to overseas aid is part of the Brexiteers' plan to make Global Britain a cultural and economic backwater.
