  1.  @bimmeroo0906  In January 1973 crude oil was priced at $2.75 per barrel; by September it increased 23% to $3.38. In October 1973, OPEC doubled the price of oil, and then doubled it again in January 1974. By March 1974 it increased to $11.10 per barrel. You're looking in the wrong place for reasons for the economic slump and inflation at this time.
