For example: Operation Span (2012) - In Rochdale, several men were convicted for sexually exploiting young girls. This case was one of the significant prosecutions during Starmer's time . Operation Retriever (2010) - In Derby, another group of men was convicted for similar crimes involving the exploitation of young girls . Starmer's role as DPP involved overseeing the CPS, which is responsible for prosecuting cases. He would not personally prosecute individual cases, but he was in charge of the organization that did. Therefore, saying Keir Starmer prosecuted zero grooming gangs is misleading. Under his leadership, the CPS did secure convictions against grooming gangs.
