  2. Why a Norwegian singer, an American conductor on the Last Night? The Proms is bigger than the sum of its parts,: 85 concerts, 3,000 musicians, about 35 orchestras. It would be poorer if it only consisted of British musicians. A British thing? My Slovak wife loves it, I love it until right-wing creeps bandwagon it and gaslight it!   3. The concert started with Richard Strauss; the conductor was American; the singer Norwegian. Also on the progamme was Bruch, Wagner, Mascagni, Verdi, Kálmán, Roxanna Panufnik (British Polish), Villa‐Lobos (Brazillian). You could argue that it is now more international, but 50 years ago it included Dukas, César Franck, Bizet, and Rimsky-Korsakov. The Proms as a whole had 85 concerts, 3,000 musicians, about 35 orchestras. It would be poorer if it only consisted of British musicians. You have created your own culture: one that is based a narrow-minded, hostile, and reactionary worldview, not one embraced by the composers, performers or audiences of the Proms.

  11.  @kevinb9830  Is it unreasonable to ask if you have been to a Proms concert? Is it then resonable to make derogatory comments about events you have not attended? It is not as if it is difficult, as the 85 concerts are all broadcast on Radio 3, and many like the Last Night are on television. It is as though philistines are imposing their narrow-minded, hostile, and reactionary worldview on this debate. As for the sociopathy, I am sorry as I mistook you for another Kevin. My apologies.

For example, in 2016 76 percent of EU immigrants to the UK were low skill low wage jobs. Fine but how do you define ”low skill”? Care assistants, and ancillary nurses would be considered “low skill”, but they provide essential health services. Many returned home in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic and in the aftermath of the initial Brexit coming into effect in January 2020. How many of “76 percent” were part of the 7 million who claimed settled status? And why is settled status a bad thing? It was a reciprocal matter between the UK and EU countries. Had people like me been kicked out of the EU, leavers would complain about British people coming over ‘ere taking our jobs!

As for the reports, weren't these published after 2016, so information was unavailable before the Referendum? This is counter-factual evidence to say if people know this in 2023, they would have voted differently in 2016. I am sure if Germans knew what they knew in 1945 many would have voted differently in 1933. What is done is done and cannot be undone (Macbeth). People voted the way they did because they were conned, they were lied to, they were taken in my liars and charlatans, and of a survey of 1,077 people in 2016, those with a degree vote 26/74% leave, those with no qualifications voted 65/35% leave. The take away is that those with a higher level of education are less likely to be fooled by politicians. As Trump said, “I love the uneducated!”
