  3. Jesus Christ, this is hopium at best and cringe at worst. First of all let's start with the word, "pessimistic". That word immediately invokes the idea of a person with a perception or awareness of "the worst". And you yourself acknowledged this. It's already too late to avert "the worst" of climate change. The IPCC report will tell you that clearly. The best we can do is adapt to "the worst" Doomers are doomers for many reasons and I'm sure most are aware things are being done. They're just resigned to the fact that what needs to be done is not being done fast enough at the scale required to avert "the worst." Again as the IPCC report will show. Doomers are aware that their future is uncertain. The full physical effects of the feedback loops of climate change unknown, the socio-economic stresses of these loops unknown (spoiler alert, a warmer world is a more violent one). It's really inconsiderate to tell people to just throw their anxieties dread and panic about the loss of their way of life and possibility of the unattainability of their hopes and dreams because the scale, the disruptions, the losses, the sheer fucking gravity of all this. In fact it is the same doomers resigned to the inevitability of all of this that are preppers, that are vegans, that are antinatalist, that are protestors, that are eco-t*#$7!&+s. So telling people not to be pessimitic is just hopium at best, and cringe at worst. I'm not saying delusional because you seem pretty aware of the gravity of the situation, but not the gravity of the inevitability of its effects.
