  22.  @juangabriel123ify  There's this thing I read about in some book, Banerjee's most recent publication, I've forgotten, it says that UBI can't work as well as it should in the Western world because Westerners have their core entire identity rooted in their labour...so if you're not selling your labour you're a "welfare queen" a "free-loader on other people's taxpaying labour" or sth and are thus basically worthless, you lose some status in Society... So yeah still...

  28.  @misschidoriasiify  actually in some cases of bad economic situations, the only option available is for the most part violence, because you've lost so much and have nothing left to lose... But they still have something to lose for sure, and making money online is not for everyone... I mean, you can't tell a guy who has years under his belt of slaughtering animals or routine farm activities and then had his job lost to a migrant because they're cheaper to start making money from a smartphone... I watched a DW documentary a while back on how Germany raised the minimum wage or sth and now every businessman is going for foreign cheap labor or replacing them with automation or sth... And yeah, I think it should be easy to get welfare And honestly they haven't resorted to violence yet, except for those few who have, they're just exercising their free speech... Honestly if you've watched Avatar legends of Korra book one you'd know what happens when you censor your opponents
