  1. It is abundantly clear you actually don't understand how the auto dealership and loans work. The new car dealership does not carry the loan for the car... they sell the car for as much as they can, and get a profit from the financing company to get the highest interest rate possible (since they can profit from what the finance company will approve the loan for, and what the dealership tells the customer... this is actually prob the biggest profit driver of car sales). Once the loan is signed, the dealership has made their money... and 100% of the loan risk is now with the bank or finance company.

  2. It's interesting how your comments are full of ignorant comments around finances, and blame the dealership. The fact is that the dealership contracts out to a third part financing company, be it the OEM (Ford, Honda, etc... typically requiring excellent credit to get OEM financing) or a financing business. It is these companies that OWN the car... not the dealership. Once the car loan is signed, it has nothing to do with the dealership... it's the financing company that repossesses the car. There is almost no car lot that would finance cars themselves, because the whole point of banking is pooling of thousands or tens of thousands of loan risks.
