Aside from possibility getting terrible roommate, or housing unit... those who don't have family visit often are likely to be the most neglected, or possible abuse. I would disagree that having money won't solve the problem. If someone has enough money, they can pay for a dedicated licensed nurse or two to live in a home. Or even if one was to go to a nursing home, you can pay someone to check on your every week or two, and talk to you on a regular basis. Is this cheap... no, but if you have money, you can buy attention and better care. Lastly, I would say 98% of residents of long-term care facilities are women. Most men die before they make it to a nursing home, or they don't live long after entering. That is another thing to consider.

First, if you are unemployed, that means another company did not find value in your contributions. If another company didn't value your contributions, why would a new one? Second, if someone has changed their job frequently, that means a lack of attachment to a company. Hiring someone often takes many months, or even up to a year, before an employee starts to make meaningful contributions. A company does not want to make the investment, and training for someone to then just leave after they just started making contributions. Third, an experienced employee typically has higher salary demands. A company must make an evaluation of hiring someone making 20,000 yuan per month vs 30,000 yuan per month. That's a 50% increase in pay, and that's 100% less profits.

The key is to prioritize savings, and invest the money (SP500, rental property) and pay down debt... and in 20-25 years, they have have a paid off home, and enough money to retire with their families. A few work for the government, which doesn't pay that much, but they get a lifetime pension... so all they have to do is pay off their house, and they have plenty of money for the rest of their lives.
