  1. There is a reason why the 40yo got laid off... she didn't realize she was 40, and how difficult it would be to find a new job. That's person is delusional... how can you forget how old you are?!?! No wonder the company fired her. Also, if her choice was to take a pay cut or get fired... she chose to get fired in this environment, is obviously the wrong decision. She did the company a favor for picking getting fired. Seriously, it would be much much better to look for another job while you are still employed... as that shows the other company you still have value in this difficult environment. Once you are laid off, just like other left over women, the company she is applying for will think... why isn't she employed? Why did the other company choose her to get laid off (esp if the company didn't go bankrupt) vs someone else?

  2. Apparently, the first woman should look up the definition of "boss". You can give your opinion to the boss, but at the end, you alway have to agree, or quit. Arguing is not not going to solve anything... I bet she has two cats and no man at home.
