  3. The Academy Awards tend to be biased towards horror movies. The only best pictures nominees I can think of that were horror movies are The Exorcist, Get Out, The Sixth Sense, Black Swan, and maybe Jaws and The Silence of the Lambs (the latter two being more like thrillers). Since it wasn't made by a non-white director, you can't really bring in the race card either

  4. Rotten Tomatoes just shows the percentage of critics giving a movie a positive review. It's not a rating site in the same way as IMDB
