  5. First Blood had little violence, but it was a great movie because there was real suspense in it and didn't rely on gore and over-the-top violence to be thrilling and compelling

  6.  @nevskislake  Rambo was cartoonish and reminded me of a shooting game or even a splatter movie. I prefer hyperrealism and situations where the main character actually is in a predicament or life-threatening situation, and there are actual stakes. But yeah, each to their own, I guess

  9. The first Rambo wasn't violent (at least it didn't look like a splatter movie) and is by far the strongest one. The rest are just your typical mindless over-the-top action flicks with no substance
