Nas was more of a 90's rapper

even he had his prime. He's basically the Hip-Hop version of Nicolas Cage

Fuck tha Police is from 1988

+Condor Magnum He's right. I initially was a Lil' Wayne hater, but "Tha Carter" 2 and 3 are definitely way different and better than his usual albums. I'm still not close to being a fan and I don't even consider him for a list of "Top rappers", but he’s definitely had his prime

+Sergio Muñoz Ice Cube had his prime in the 90's (and maybe 80's when he was part of NWA)

I've listened to all of Ice Cube's albums (except his last two) from start to finish and can't even remember any notable raps from the 2000's

+CreationStory Why not? Deeper and more meaningful lyrics, powerful delivery that actually sounds authentic and genuine, and way catchier beats

No, that's a country

+the Everything show I loved "Good Life" as a teen and had no idea that Kanye would ruin his reputation like that

Elijah Kelly I don't listen that much to new school rap, so Lil' Wayne was the only one who came to mind

Abdullah Al-Azmi Lil' Wayne may be a joke now and symbol of Hip-Hop not having great performers anymore, but there was a time where he was actually respected. "Tha Carter II" and "Tha Carter III" were critically acclaimed and made him some of the most beloved rappers of the new generation of Hip-Hop, but then it went downhill afterwards like a very steep hill. That's why I drew the parallel to Nicolas Cage since he was also very respected in the beginning and even won an Oscar, but now he's turned into a joke.

Abdullah Al-Azmi Yeah, I see what you mean. I listened to those albums during the summer (from start to finish) and was also impressed, and at the same time disappointed in him for not staying consistent. However, I first heard of Lil' Wayne when I listened to Wyclef Jean's song "Sweetest Girl" in 2007, and while I wasn't overwhelmed by Lil' Wayne's part since he sounded kinda generic, I was at least find with it and thought he sounded tolerable. However, when I heard his part on Jay Sean's song "Down" in 2009, I was shocked and thought "What the fuck happened?" since he sounded like he performed his verse while being strangled, and it only got worse when I heard his verse on Eminem's "No Love" in 2010.
