  1. Yes, that entrance really creeped me out. I just heard that calm voice in that frightening setting and saw his face shrouded in darkness, and when his face was finally shown in the light, I was like "Oh shit. That's creepy". I often think that the "step into the light" entrance is cliched, but it really worked with Kurtz I also liked the entrance of Don Vito in "The Godfather"; you just saw Bonasera have his monologue and heard Don Vito speak, and you were just waiting to see his face. The close-up also established much of his character
