***** Jim Carrey is a great dramatic actor too: - Doing Time on Maple Drive - The Truman Show - Man on the Moon - The Majestic - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I completely took Jim Carrey seriously after watching "The Truman Show", "Man on the Moon", "The Majestic", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", and the underrated TV Movie "Doing Time On Maple Drive". Now I hate seeing him do comedies

***** "The Truman Show" has a very dramatic core, and a story and concept that's creepy in a subtle way. It's also quite provocative, and I really felt sorry for him, especially during the ending and when his date with the girl got interrupted. The ending was also the dramatic highlight and changed my whole impression of the film, and when Jim Carrey won a Golden Globe, it was for Best Actor - Drama

James Oldfield the general response from the critics have been highly negative, while the general response from the audience have been mixed to negative. Jim Carrey has also proved that he is a great dramatic actor in many other films than that one

Allexander DM you actually enjoyed number 23? Wow...
1
Allexander DM obvious troll is obvious, and curse words make someone lose their credibility immediately
1
Allexander DM people who are constantly using curse words and writing irrelevant comments that are only meant to provoke are trolls. You're clearly too immature to even be on Youtube

Allexander DM if you really have to know, I was 15 when I began commenting on Youtube. But I stand by my word, and you seriously need help and medications, troll
1
Allexander DM don't you have anything better to do? Your "comments" are not even relevant for the video; we were discussing "number 23", and you start calling us retards? Nobody here cares about you

***** yes, it definitely is, he's a great actor in general. Unfortunately, when people think of Jim Carrey, they think of movies like "Ace Ventura" and "The Mask" (Fortunately, I don't)

***** it's just that I think he is a great dramatic actor, and had some dramatic performances early in his career, but he never managed to have his big breakthrough with them. His comedies like those are mostly entertaining, but I also think that they often are gross and try too hard to be funny (for example making funny faces, making weird noises, turn around and talking with his face between his legs, and rolling on the floor), and then people can't take him seriously and believe he is always that whacky slapstick comedian

for Nicolas Cage, I would have said "Leaving Las Vegas" (a quite sad and tragic romantic drama film) since he was mostly casted in comedies or action films before that. However, "Joe" is a great comeback performance

He had an Oscar-nominated performance in the biographical sports drama film in "Raging Bull", and "GoodFellas" was actually released before "Home Alone". He also had a small, but memorable part in "Once Upon A Time In America"
