"Brokeback Mountain" and "The Dark Knight" have both been critically acclaimed, and the reception for "10 Things I Hate About You" has been generally positive

+Bill Whalen Nah, I stick to high-culture, and audiences are too whiny and emotional for me to take them seriously
1
+Ciaran Mcloughlin "Wall Street" was great
1
+Animation Universe Then you haven’t seen much from him; he's actually quite compelling when given the right role
1
Way better than reading audience's "assessments" though
1
+Jake Johnson "Brokeback Mountain" was a huge success both critically and commercially
1
+Marissa thompson "Ray" and "Django Unchained" are both great movies
1
+Marissa thompson You're in a minority if you think that; this is based on general acclaim, and "Django" has been generally acclaimed. You're entitled to your opinion, but unless you're an established name, I don't think anyone will care about what you think. You're not Lindsay Ellis
1
And this is the other reason why you don't seem to be a reliable source to say what's good and bad; you can't even give me a real response
1
+Marissa thompson Do you think this is funny? David Hume and Roger Ebert's legacy is taken for granted, as well as the legacy of dozens of influential movie directors because all we're left with are incompetent directors and low-cultured audiences who neither understand film nor art criticism, and you're not making things any better. People who take art criticism for granted are automatically dead to me

That's it, I'm done here! I should have learned that I shouldn't talk to 5 year olds, and it's definitely a waste of my valuable time. I know what you were trying to do; you were just trying to piss me off. Well, congratulations! You did exactly that! Want a diploma?
1
You know what? I'm disappointed in you. This could have been a very interesting discussion about art, and instead of taking it, you decided to act like a 5 year old who acts oblivious and unnaturally happy to every misery in the world, and also not give me any real response at all. You only accomplished making me pretend to be an angry asshole and forcing me to say things I otherwise wouldn't have said or believed in. I hope you're satisfied with yourself, you really should be.

+Marissa thompson You could try to prove me wrong. That's what I always do when other people doubt me. And btw, Lindsay Ellis is far from being "some random white woman critic". Ever heard about Nostalgia Critic? Yeah, she started off as his female counterpart except that she's more analytic and doesn't rely on screaming. During the last 3 years or so, I've tried to find a new role model whom I can take inspiration from and develop my own skills as a critic. Unfortunately, 99.9% of the people I've come across are people like you; low-cultured audiences who take movie criticism for granted. So when I came across Lindsay and I actually learned something from her, it was a dream come true. Pity that people like you don't see her merits or the merits of Roger Ebert.

Mark Wahlberg has been a handful of warmly received movies; he's just never been considered the best part of them
1
+Warhawk Rambo "Terminator 2" and "American History X" are both critically acclaimed
1
No, that was Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt.
1
+Rene LeBlanc A lot of his recent movies have been critically acclaimed
1
+Tha Hip Hop Kid And the movie "As Good As It Gets" is pretty good itself even though he isn't the main focus
