  1. arthousefanatic The second monologue I'm referring to is actually the monologue he performs after Jeanne asks him "Why don't you go back to America?", the one where he talks about his childhood. It's a very good monologue too, but not as greatly written as performed. The first monologue I'm referring to however, where he talks to his dead wife, is both greatly written and performed, and I totally agree with your opinion about it. Brando is one of my favorite actors, and "Last Tango in Paris" is also one of my favorite films by him.

  2. Yes, that's one of the best movie monologues I've ever seen/heard. I also like the monologue where he talks about his past, even though it's more because of the mood and direction rather than the text itself.
