Rap is the category I mostly choose because it's apparently the one I'm best at, but I always go for Eminem's songs (took a while before I had the guts to do it though) I have sung "Angels" a couple of times, but I had no idea it was so popular. Me and a girl I randomly met one night closed the karaoke evening by singing "Summer Nights" together And yes, I have heard "My Way", "Don't stop believing", "Bohemian Rhapsody", and "Living on a prayer" at karaoke bars I don't know how many times. Also "I want it that way"

  3. It creates a good atmosphere, at least at the karaoke bars in Norway where I come from. Most of the people who perform at the bars there also seem to be people that have virtually become household names at those specific bars, so it's not often that I have come across tone deaf people

  4. The song itself is not very good anyway. I think the reason people butcher rap songs in general is because they only care about the beat and forget to think about what they're actually singing (by that, I mean that they should put some "acting" into it and not just perform the lyrics)

  5. Most people hate that song nowadays. I even watched someone perform it on television in a competition where famous artist would compete against each other in a specific genre each week, and the judges said "You perform it really well, but you should have picked a rap song that's not considered such a loser song"

  6. Depends on how well you perform it. I've been able to receive a lot of praise, even by conservative people
