  1.  @christermyrberg3661  How are his character in "My Left Foot", "There Will Be Blood", "Lincoln", and "Phantom Thread" the same? Even his performance in "Gangs of New York", while being considered a prototype Daniel Plainview by some, is still different enough. Plus, he's arguably one of the best accent users in Hollywood

  2. Daryl Hannah in "Wall Street" definitely proves that otherwise. The movie is great, but her performance was so hated that even Oliver Stone regretted casting her. I'm also not a big fan of Kevin Costner in "JFK", despite the movie being one of my favorites

  3. I'd say his reputation got sour AFTER that movie, ironically. He was good in both "Requiem for a Dream" and "Dallas Buyers Club", and while I haven't seen it, people thought he was the best thing about "Chapter 27"
