@olyakostromina3265 Best Director went to John Ford for "Grapes of Wrath"

@Diego Pisfil I never really felt anything while watching it. I'll stick to Oliver Stone's "Wall Street" or watch "American Psycho" if I want a movie about businesses

You mean that Pulp Fiction has overshadowed Forrest Gump or that Pulp Fiction got robbed by Forrest Gump

A lot of this is based on the general consensus

@rambunctiousrohan The movie adaption of Les Miserables makes me cringe compared to any of the anniversary concerts, and the live-singing of the movie is just a gimmick that mostly hampers the singing performance. Not to mention that that the gritty hyper-realistic aesthetics and the idea of using non-diegetic music (or is it really non-diegetic when the actors sing live?) don't really mesh well

Great argumentation, I must say, old lady

Hell no, the entire 2nd act of Brother Bear is so cringey compared to its 1st and 3rd act that it feels like the filmmakers tried to make a completely different film. Finding Nemo isn't my favorite Pixar film, but at least it's consistent and has some real suspense and good comedic timing compared to Brother Bear

Well, at least it got nominated for Best Picture unlike 2001

Bohemian Rhapsody and Green Book were both movies I felt indifferent towards; both were formulaic and forced

King's Speech is practically "present time" (It's only 9 years old), and horror/thriller movies (Psycho) rarely get nominated even to this day

None of them won Best Picture

@badad8537 Pulp Fiction has been mentioned a lot more in later times and been used as a paradigm for a postmodern movie. I barely hear Forrest Gump being mentioned. Heck, even the reviews and scores have been better for Pulp Fiction

Could be that people back then raged because of its violence (Yes, the violence is tame if we compare it to modern movies, but back then you couldn't even curse without censors getting freaked out)
